Seasonal Autumn colour palettes - get creative with different moods

Hello Reader,

As we head into the remainder of the year, are you freaking out like me at all the things you haven't yet got around to?! Every new year I sit down and think about what goals I want to complete for the year and I can honestly say I never get to tick them all off! I'm sure you can relate :)

It's scary how fast time goes by, yet here we are nearly at the end of the year again and I'd love to ask your opinions and thoughts on the newsletter...

Have your say in the newsletter survey!

Every 6 months or so I send out a survey to ask your opinions and thoughts on what I share here and I'd love to know what you'd like to see more or less of. Plus it's a way for me to get to know you better, so I can shape the content of what I share to exactly what you want and need. I'd really appreciate you taking a few mins to tell me your thoughts.

News from my life as a designer

Having done the colour palettes masterclass a few weeks ago, I took a few days off just to recharge my batteries and rest. Given my tech disaster that nearly halted the masterclass altogether, I needed some chill time!

I'm back to designing now and have been working on a new Autumn collection to be released in my Spoonflower shop very soon. Sometimes a collection comes together quickly, sometimes it doesn't.

I've been procrastinating over a few of the designs and you know this isn't always good when you're trying to be creative. It can completely stop any progress you'd previously made and make you doubt yourself and your abilities. I know I need to push through or leave them for a few days and come back to them with fresh eyes.

I'm currently just over half way through the collection of 8 patterns, but some fine tuning may be needed when I see them all together. Sometimes we can't see our own weaknesses when we're so close to designing them!

Freebies!

I love creating your monthly freebies as we all love something for nothing! This month free guide is about how to create specific colour palettes for the Autumn season.

Autumn is by far my favourite season just because of all the wonderful colours that we see. I go into more depth in the pdf about creating different moods within the Autumn season (I honestly didn't think there were different 'moods' that could be created in a season when I first started making patterns a few years ago!).

In the guide I give you a selection of common colours in use for 4 different Autumn moods. Download the pdf below.

Colour Palettes

This month's free colour palettes are focused around the Autumn season, whether you're designing for this year's Autumn or next year. I'm also experimenting with having 8 colours and 6 colour palettes as I know having 8 colours can be too many for your projects. Which amount of colours suit your needs best? Let me know!
